Concrete, steel, foam pipe lagging, hinge, 2024

15*25*105 cm

This sculpture features a concrete base, textured with shapes of king oyster mushrooms, symbolizing natural growth emerging from a man-made structure. A steel rod extends from the base, branching out with hinges mimicking the delicate wings of flying insects. The foam pipe lagging, adorned with concrete fragments, simulates the appearance of Stereum fungi typically found growing on decaying tree trunks.

This piece reflects the artist's ongoing interest in the relationship between the artificial and the natural, embodying themes of transformation and coexistence. It invites viewers to contemplate the delicate balance between industrial decay and organic resilience.
